Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital Wayfinding

Interior and Exterior Signage

Interior Signage was addressed simply, choosing materials that worked with elements of light and shadow, but due to a primary concern for accessibility of signage, the high contrast of black text on a white field was employed.

In an effort to truly identify the best combinations of typography, contrast and mounting elevation, Kent Design spent several days testing the user populations at Raker Center, Edwards Center, the Rehabilitation Hospital and the Supported Assisted Living Facility to confirm our understanding of the issues related to accessibility for this unique population.

Exterior Signage incorporated corporate identity and translucent components carrying a quote from scripture significant to the hospital’s founder. Simplicity of materials, and accessible installation were also important components to this system.
